NYC 2016: Ground Zero

Walking through NYC,  we rounded a corner and there it was - the World Trade Center complex and Ground Zero.

It is breathtaking, really, and very peaceful there in the middle of the city.  It's a spot that forces one - anyone - into reflection.

It feels strange to pose next to the area, for both me and my wife.  What is the appropriate expression?  The natural tendency is to smile when your photo is being taken, but somehow that does not feel right here.

The new tower.  I always thought the original WTC towers were quite homely and boring - large whitish gray rectangles with vertical lines.  This new tower is very handsome.  I think the design will hold up very well as time marches on.  Congratulations to the designers.
