We learned long ago that a smart thing to do upon arriving in any city is taking a hop on - hop off tour. It gives tourists a good overview of the city so that plans can be revised to see things on other days that are of the most interest. So we bought a two day pass so we could take a 2 hour tour both days. The first day we took the tour of the southern half of Manhattan, the second day the northern half.
Let's show you what we saw on the southern loop. We started out at Times Square.

And then we saw it - the famous Charging Bull of Wall Street! I hadn't expected the mobs of people, but should have I guess.

Union protesters were on the sidewalk chanting and blowing horns. I'm guessing the pickups with big rats in the bed are theirs.

The tour guide said it had become tradition for guests to stand nude in the glass windows of this hotel.
And we lost a lane. This slowed traffic to a crawl.

The facing to this building used to go all the way to the ground. However, people kept climbing it all the way to the top of the building. So they changed the facing to stop well above ground level. Problem solved.

The tour guide said there were complaints that this building was too colorful. The developer rightly pointed out that this was an odd statement about a building on the edge of Times Square. It looks like he made his point.

As we completed the tour and stepped off the bus, we can across this poster tribute to Prince, who had just died.
