Exiting the amphitheater, we spotted the Palestra Grande next door. It looked very inviting there under the cool shade trees!
So we headed in that direction...
Upon arriving there, number 61 on
this map, we found an impressive athletic field surround by a large portico used for games and parties.
There is supposedly the remains of a pool somewhere on the premises, but we didn't see it. That's the amphitheater in the background.
And here is my beautiful wife, holding up well to our hectic tour schedule. I think the shade of the trees helped quite a bit.
