When Ganna purchased the property in the 1940s, the original swimming pool on the estate was in need of major repair. The swimming pool, built in the early 1920s, had lily ponds on both sides - you can see the original cement dividers in this photo.
Instead of undertaking the repair, Ganna chose to build another pool elsewhere and turn this 1920s structure into a lotus pond. That's my tour group standing under the trees on the right.
The woman in white is standing where the 1920s diving board was, with steps into the water on either side of her.
The benches were built by Ganna.
The original pool steps.
The trees where my tour group was standing in the second photo.
The Water Garden is area 6 on this map.
