Troy thought it was the perfect day today to play in the back yard. So he took his trucks out of the storage unit and found a shady place to play. This is what we saw when we looked in the back yard.
Before long, Teo joined in.

Dave & Lucy Bought Their First Home!
Congratulations to David & Lucy on the purchase of their first home! They get the keys on Friday!
They did a wonderful job selecting a place. It is a great location - in their preferred school district, in the district of their preferred school within that district, on a cul-de-sac so it is quiet for the kids, and close to freeways.
It has a two-car garage...
...open space alongside...
...a very nice living room...
David, Lucy, and Teo during the home inspection.
The great kitchen...
View out the window over the sink.
Dining room...
Teo is tired! On the left is a glimpse of their Redfin realtor, Jim Johnston. This man did a spectacular job - best realtor I've ever dealt with by far! If you're buying or selling a home in north San Diego county, I highly recommend him.
Let's look towards the entryway.
Out the front door. This place has THREE patios! One off the front door and one off each bedroom.
Walkway beside the garage.
Bedroom 1.
The patio off bedroom 2. It even has a view of the new hospital in the distance between the buildings. Congratulations again Dave & Lucy. I think you did an outstanding job finding a very nice place!

How Not To Starve: Chicken & Havarti Sandwich
Here is a quick meal even I can make when my wife is away!
Spread some light mayo on Oroweat Buttermilk bread, add some Carving Board chicken breast and a slice of Havarti cheese. If there is any tomato and bell pepper available, throw that on too!
Put the whole thing in the microwave for 20 seconds and BAM a great tasting healthy meal!
You're welcome.

Roku 3: Thoughts After Six Months
Time for a six month update! We ditched cable over six months ago for a Roku 3 box, and I thought I'd give a quick overview of how it has actually worked out for us. First, a quick overview of what Roku 3 does in this video I shot this morning:
My original post when we bought the Roku 3 is here. As it turns out, we really didn't buy or continue to watch a majority of the shows I listed in that post. We found so many new shows on HuluPlus, Netflix and Amazon that we quit watching a lot of what we watched on cable!
I was pretty sure I would like Roku, but was less sure about my wife. It took her a few months to adapt, but she is now totally on board with Roku and is glad we gave up cable. So - what do we watch on Roku? Here are a few examples:
Finally, if you'd like a good overview on how to set up Roku and what exactly is included when you buy a Roku 3 box, here is a video I found on the internet:
Enjoy!
