Wedding Weekend: Rehearsal Dinner

Instead of having a traditional rehearsal dinner, Ron & Mary chose to have a picnic for everyone who would be attending the wedding.  That way, no one was left out!  A fantastic idea.

I didn't capture everyone who attended the picnic,  but I did catch a few of the folks.  Here is Ron, Keith, and Landon.
From left:  Drew and Crystal Litsey came all the way from North Carolina!  And Debbie and Neal Blodgett came from Las Vegas!
Teo really enjoying his popcorn ball and a spiked football.
Not sure of everyone in this photo but Mary's parents Malcolm and Kathy are at the picnic bench and my nephew Alex Guzman is in the black shirt.
 Lucy and Teo.

At one point Teo wandered off and found a mud puddle.  He didn't notice his dad walking up.  Right after I snapped this shot, Teo looked up and, see his dad, showed him his muddy hands!  It was too cute...
They decided to rejoin the group after a quick hand rinse in the river...
...well maybe a trip to the bathroom first!

Wedding Weekend: Campus Tour

While in Chico, we had the chance to walk around the California State University, Chico campus.  This is where I went to school, as well as John who walked with us.  Our son Ron is going to CSUC right now.  In fact, he works in this building - Laxson Auditorium.
One of the more beautiful things about the campus is the creek that runs through the middle of campus.  Foot bridges provide access to the various buildings, and provide a welcome respite from the stress as one walks from one class to the next.  Here, Lucy and Teo take a moment to pause while walking across the creek.
 No signs of stress here!
In front of Holt Hall, the math building, Troy finds a stick...
...and does his best Andy Griffith Show impression!
 Another foot bridge.
Lucy and Teo enjoying the squirrels and tall trees.
Pausing along the creek.
 Teo, Lucy and Troy.
This is Butte Hall.  I always thought of it as the building with geography classes and where the mainframes were kept, since those were my goals when I went in the building.  But apparently it hosts communication classes and anthropology also now.
The lawn in front of Butte Hall.
Meriam Library.   I spent a lot of time here since I lived an hour away from campus in Yuba City with my wife and son.  I had to have a place to study between classes, and that was the nice quiet nooks in Meriam Library.  My home away from home.
Many of my classes were in Siskiyou Hall since that was where the computer science department was centered at the time (I believe it is now in the newly built O'Connell Technology Center).  For whatever reason, I didn't swing the camera around and get a shot of Siskiyou,  but I did get this shot of Teo and Troy walking away from it.
Lucy and my wife sitting in the plaza.
Troy, Lucy, Teo, and my wife.
Glenn Hall.  The only time I was ever in there was for an accounting class.
This building is new.  It did not exist when I was in school.  It is the Student Services Center, apparently.

The statue at the edge of the rose garden.

Wedding Weekend: Ice Cream!

After we toured the campus, the women went to a salon to have their hair done for the wedding.  Us boys went to the ice cream shop!  Cookies and cream flavor.  The boys loved it!

Wedding Weekend: The Wedding Location

Since I was officiating, I did not get the opportunity to take any photos of the actual ceremony.  But someone in attendance took this photo - I haven't figured out who yet.  Thank you!

We'll have to wait for the photographer to release what she took to see much more of the actual ceremony.
Right after the ceremony, I was able to take a few shots.  Here is one from the parking lot looking back at the seating area.
My wife and her mother Clara.
Lucy, Troy, Claire, Avery, and Teo.

Lucy and David took the boys to the river's edge for a few photos afterwards.  You can't really see it, but we are standing in someone's camping spot.  They were very patient with us!
The boys were perfect through the entire ceremony - they were the ring bearers - and even stood with us up front the entire time.  But by now they were a little worn out.  You can see their patience is wearing thin by the expression on their faces.
I wanted to get it one shot of the whole family, but Teo's patience had ended.
Nothing I said changed that...but that's the beauty of these shots...they are real life!  The great, the beautiful, and the human condition.  Thank you Troy, Teo, Lucy, and David for some beautiful photos!
